Tyke Division Info
Updated November 12, 2017
In addition to the competitive league, TCMBHA offers an ball hockey introductory "Tykes" division. The Tykes division is a development program which introduces the kids to stick handling, shooting, moving around in the rink, ball hockey drills and basic game concepts.
For 2018, this program is open to kids born in 2012 and 2013. Tykes do not play games (other than scrimmaging), instead they participate in one practice session per week (tentatively planned for Sunday mornings at either 9am or 10am starting early April 2018).
Uniforms will be handed out to each of the players at the first session and must be returned at the end of the season.
For the past several years, Metro Minor Ball Hockey (Vancouver/Burnaby) has hosted a Tyke Mini Tournament. We will post and email this information as soon as it is available.
COACH/HELPERS NEEDED FOR 2018:
We need 2-4 parents to step up as coach/helpers for the Tyke Division. These individuals will need to complete a Criminal Record Check prior to the first session. Even if you have never played ball hockey but have coached other sports we would welcome you to consider taking on this role. This is all about having fun and introducing the kids to the sport of ball hockey.
Please email TCMBHA President, Mark Wooldridge (email@example.com) or Executive Director, Shayne Apostoliuk (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further information.
