Regular Season

The ball hockey season typically runs immediately after spring break until mid late June. The divisional playoffs start mid June with the top team in each division participating in the Provincial Championships the last week of June into the July long weekend. We also have teams regularly attend the Western Challenge Cup (WCC) which will take place in mid-July.

Ball hockey is played in an ice rink (on dry floor). The home arenas for TCMBHA are Port Moody Rec Centre (Rinks A1 & A2), Coquitlam Poirier Sports Center (Rec Rink, Main Arena and Forum, and Port Coquitlam Recreation Centre.  Away games are played throughout the Lower Mainland and travel to other Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley arenas is expected at least once per week (week day or weekend).

As this is a competitive League, schedules are not available until the season starts so, we CANNOT tell you in advance the day, times and locations of your child's games and practices.   You can expect to play, on average, three times per week - one home game per week, one away game and one practice - some weeks have an extra game.

Games typically are scheduled 6 pm or later on weekdays and can be anytime during the weekend.  Practices can be as early as 4 pm on a weekday and / or can be scheduled for weekends.  Schedules are not developed until late March, therefore until the schedules are developed and teams are formed we do not know what teams will play or practice when.

***WE CANNOT take ANY requests for friends to be placed on the team NO EXCEPTIONS (except U7)!! Instead, players are evaluated to assess individual skill level (all skill levels are welcome, always). The coaches then meet to select their teams with the objective of balancing skill level as best as possible among each team. Please be sure to check our Evaluation Information webpage for further information. Once teams are selected all placements are FINAL.

All players must wear all MANDATORY equipment to each and every session or they will not be allowed on the arena floor. Please see our Equipment webpage for list of all required equipment.

The refund policy is posted on the Refund Policy webpage and also on our registration website. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the refund policy so please become familiar with the policy prior to registering your child.
